Economists Lynn Sedway and Larry Souza offer insight into Bay Area commercial real estate
The Commercial Real Estate Forecast Luncheon comes to Oakland January 14 as
major real estate organizations join forces bring together two highly respected industry
economists to share their insights.
Lynn M. Sedway, CRE, is Executive Managing Director of CBRE Consulting, Inc., the
successor entity to Sedway Group, the real estate and urban economics consulting firm she
formed in 1978. Since founding the firm, she has led its consulting practice - which includes
market studies, highest and best use studies, economic and financial analysis and fiscal
assessments - which has earned an unsurpassed reputation in its field for innovative thinking,
sound research and objective advice. Ms. Sedway’s major areas of specialization include
public-private partnerships, negotiation, redevelopment, market studies, complex valuation
analysis and corporate real estate. She also has extensive experience in evaluating market
trends for major land uses, including residential, retail, office and mixed-use projects, and has
testified as an expert witness in the areas of market and financial feasibility, valuation and real
estate economics.
Larry Souza, CCIM, is a Registered Representative with Chrysalis Capital Group LLC
and commercial real estate broker, providing economic and investment consulting services to
retail and institutional real estate investors. He has also held senior positions in strategic
portfolio research and analysis with BRE Properties, Metric Realty Advisors, Mellon-
McMahan/MacFarlane Partners, Norris/Beggs & Simpson and Grubb & Ellis.
Souza has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Prior to
establishing the Johnson Souza Group, Inc. and affiliating with Chrysalis Capital Group LLC,
Souza worked for Charles Schwab Investment Management as Managing Director - Index
Services; Chief Economist – Managing Director with Global Real Analytics; and Investment
Advisor for Quantum Financial Network. Souza holds graduate degrees in several fields
including: finance, economics, public administration and information systems. He has also
been teaching college level courses for the past 13 years in Real Estate, Finance and Economics.
